Districts - July 22, 2007

What appeared to dawn as a nice cool day turned into a hot, humid, sticky, sweaty day by gametime. The girls came out, energized and ready to do their best.

They played Bloomington, winner of one of the morning games. Bloomington had a full complement of subs - Northfield had one. With a distinct disadvantage in the heat and humidity, they played like the champions they have proven themselves to be.

More shots on goal than any game previous - bad luck that so many hit the crossbar or were just a bit wide. Look at a few of the shots on goal...

Everyone played marvelously. Then teamwork was incredible! We were defeated, but there is SO MUCH to be proud of. YEAH, RAIDERS!!! Nowhere to go but bigger and better next year. What a team!! (Pat yourselves on the back!!!)

Thanks again to Kaitlin and Breanna for being our coaches. You are great role models and fabulous coaches! The girls worked hard with enthusiasm for you. THANK YOU!

There will be a get together for the team and parents later this summer. Be sure to let Weaver's know your preferences.

(Unfortunately, my memory card filled up at 177 pictures, and I missed some of the second half action. I'm sorry that I missed documenting some of the spectacular things the girls did.)

Don't know about all the other Raiders, but ours didn't get out of bed 'til 8:45 this morning. Pretty unusual around here!
